Meanwhile, the four of SpaceX, who had been launched from Cape Canaveral with the Dragon spacecraft to collect donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, have returned to Earth.
The Chinese mission
The Chinese also returned landing in the Gobi desert with the Shenzhou 12 capsule after almost three months in orbit. The launch took place on June 17, the first manned Chinese mission in five years and the first to the Tiangong space station. The departure was also wanted by Beijing to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party on 1 July. Now the three taikonauts will have to spend two weeks in quarantine because their immune systems have weakened during their stay in space, the Chinese Space Agency said. China plans to launch three more manned missions later this year.
