14 shops were robbed in one night in Manirampur town of Jessore. On Wednesday (May 17) morning, they broke the cash boxes of these institutions and took about four lakh taka. Video footage from the CCTV cameras of some shops showed the scene of the theft. However, they could not be identified as their faces were covered with towels.

According to the locals, the garment market area is the busiest in the city. The theft started after five in the morning. First, a man with a towel tied over the face of the clothing store owned by Master Mosharraf Hossain pressed under the chest with something like an iron rod and entered.

Then he broke the cashbox of the shop and took the money. Similarly, they stole from 14 business establishments one by one. Meanwhile, they entered the shops of garment traders Harun Or Rashid, Rabiul Islam, Farooq Hossain, Shafiqul Islam, Syed Kabir Palash, Afzal Hossain, Abdur Rahim, Abdul Hamid and Salim Hossain and broke the cash box and stole about 4 lakhs. They raised the doors of the other four shops in the same way, but they could not enter inside.

Abu Hashem, the night watchman, said that after the Fajr call to prayer, I went to the mosque and left. Then it was stolen.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Manirampur Police Station Sheikh Moniruzzaman said that the video footage captured by the CC camera has been collected. Efforts are underway to identify them.
