A help desk for offline registration is functioning at the delegate cell set up at Kairali Theatre. Delegate registration can also be done online through the link on the website www.idsffk.in. The delegate fee is Rs 400 for general category and Rs 200 for students.
The main attractions of the six-day festival in three theaters are documentaries, short films, campus short films, animation films and music videos in the competition and focus categories.
19 films that have won awards at various international festivals including Payal Kapadia’s ‘A Night of Knowing Nothing’, which won the Golden Eye Award at the Cannes Film Festival, will be screened.
Other highlights include ‘Eye Tales’, a package of images shot on an iPhone, and ‘Scars of War: Portraits from the Fields’, a special package of images that reveal the scars of war. Selected films of Reena Mohan, a documentary director and editor who won the Lifetime Achievement Award, will also be screened at the fair.
‘Meet the Director’, which gives the delegates an opportunity to interact with the directors of the films screened at the fair, ‘Face to Face’, which discusses current trends in the field of documentary and short film production, and In Conversation with leading filmmakers participating in the fair, will also be organized as part of the fair.
Summary: 14th International Documentary and Short Film Festival (IDSFFK) is scheduled from August 26 to 31. Organised by the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the festival takes place in the Kairali, Sree, Nila complex.
