15 injured in protests in Brussels

About 70 people have been arrested in Brussels at protests against sanitary measures. About 60 people were subjected to administrative arrest, 10 were detained in court. At least three police officers and 12 protesters were injured, RTBF reports.

According to local authorities, about 50,000 people attended the protest. The police used water cannons and tear gas. The protesters opposed the requirement to be revaccinated to visit bars and cinemas.

The action took place near the EU headquarters and escalated into clashes with the police, the window of the office of the diplomatic service was broken. EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell condemned the brutality shown during the demonstration.
