Mumbai: For the last 15 years, Maharashtra’s Beedil Agricultural Festival has been held continuously, but this year’s festival is a little special. The main attraction of the agricultural festival is Gajendra the buffalo

Gajendra is no ordinary buffalo. The buffalo is a giant weighing half a ton. The price is one and a half crores. Gajendra’s diet is more interesting than that. Gajendra should consume 15 liters of milk and three kilos of apples every day. Farmers are now thronging the stall set up at the agricultural festival to meet Gajendra, who has traveled kilometers from Karnataka to Beed in Maharashtra.

It was in Punjab that the traders said one and a half crore rupees for a buffalo called Gajendra. Being huge in size, Gajendra is now unable to do field work due to his weight. Gajendra’s owner says that the work is done using other buffaloes in the house.

“We have 50 buffaloes in our house. They give 100 to 150 liters of milk. That milk fetches 4000 to 5000 rupees a day. From that, the money for Gajendra’s food is found’, said the owner. The owner wants to sell Gajendra in Haryana. The owner also said that he wants to sell Gajendra for 4 to 5 crore rupees. Although 180 stalls are displayed, Gajendra’s stall attracts more visitors.
