15 winners benefit from excellence awards – 2024-04-30 22:58:27

The extended cabinet meeting followed by the presentation of the excellence prize for the 8th edition was held this Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at KINDIA University. This ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, aims to encourage and motivate the best teachers, researchers and students in our various higher education and research institutions.

Five points were on the agenda and 15 winners from the social sciences, technology, engineering and mathematics departments benefited from new computers and prizes of excellence. In an interview with Conakry Infos, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation explains:

« Why Kindia? We first want to encourage those who are already here. They must be able to serve as a model for those who are outside and who would like to have this vocation. It is therefore a pleasure for me to participate in this ceremony of best recognition of the best women and girls that we have in higher education and scientific research and innovation. »

And to continue: “IThere have been several developments in the texts governing higher education and scientific research and innovation in Guinea. This stage is a stage which will begin with the popularization of these texts. In particular, the law relating to the remuneration of teachers and the management of IRS. We also have several application texts which are in draft. It is therefore also an opportunity for us to discuss them with stakeholders so that they can be inclusive in their implementation.. »

For his part, Professor AKoye Massa Zoumanigui, rector of the university, says he is satisfied: “ I would like to wish our guests a warm welcome and a cordial stay in Kindia. This is the first time that this council has been relocated within the country. I wish there were other expanded tips inside. Thank you to the Minister and his cabinet. »

As for Ms. Bintougbé Dîakité Kaba, head of the gender and equity section at the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, she explains:

« Each year, the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, through its gender and equity department, organizes a prize of excellence for the best women in higher education institutions in the sectors scientists. And this year, this award is also extended to other areas of training. That is to say the social sciences. You will remember that one of the department’s flagship missions is in terms of gender and equity. It is to fight inequalities, but also discrimination. So, that’s why that year, we extended this award to other areas. And no area was left behind. There were 15 winners, 3 teacher-researchers and 12 student-researchers who distinguished themselves in their fields. »
