In a tragic incident that took place on January 28 in Skogås, south of Stockholm, a 15-year-old boy lost his life after being shot inside a restaurant. The boy was immediately airlifted to the hospital, but unfortunately, his injuries were fatal.

In the following days, two teenagers, aged 15 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of murder and aiding and abetting murder, respectively. However, the investigation soon led to the detention of several individuals throughout the spring and summer, including a 25-year-old believed to have ordered the boy’s murder.

According to multiple media sources, the 25-year-old is allegedly connected to the notorious “Kurdish fox,” a leader of the Foxtrot network. This network is suspected of being responsible for a significant portion of the gang violence in Stockholm in 2023.

Another individual being investigated in relation to the case is a 20-year-old who was recently sentenced to 18 years in prison for ordering a series of violent acts in southern Stockholm. This person’s involvement in the murder is being treated as a suspect.

A total of ten people have been charged in connection with the murder, with nine of them currently in custody. The charges include murder, aiding and abetting murder, preparation for murder, conspiracy to commit murder, aggravated weapons offenses, drug offenses, and failure to disclose a crime, as stated in a press release from the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

The age range of the accused individuals varies from 15 to 27, with the youngest suspect having turned 16 since the incident occurred.

Senior prosecutor Ida Arnell commended the police for their diligent work, saying, “Our goal has been to identify these people and ultimately prosecute them. The police have done a basic and solid job which has now led to me being able to bring charges.”

From the investigation, it has been revealed that the murder was meticulously planned. The shooter was provided with an apartment for accommodation after the crime, as well as weapons and transportation to and from the crime scene. Critical evidence includes discussions found in the messaging app Signal, witness observations, phone records, and taxi bookings.

“The evidence is a puzzle with chats from the app Signal as a skeleton, where you can clearly read about the planning and execution of the murder. Witness observations, phone drains, and taxi bookings have also been of great importance in the investigation and now form part of the evidence. It has been an extensive material to go through and demanding work for everyone involved,” shared Ida Arnell.

As the investigation moves forward, authorities are committed to seeking justice and holding those responsible accountable for the loss of the young boy’s life.
