Carabineros confirmed that a few hours before the accident a report was filed for the theft of the car involved in the incident.
A 15-year-old teenager died after the crash and rollover of the stolen car in which he was traveling, on a street in the commune of Peñalolén.
The Carabineros report specified that The incident occurred after 4:00 a.m. this morning. on Diputada Laura Rodríguez Street, almost on the corner with 61st Street.
In that place the car that had been ordered for theft crashed into the perimeter wall of a house and then into a tree.
As a result of the double impact and the high speed with which it was traveling, the vehicle overturned.
That caused the death of a 15-year-old teenager in the same placewho apparently was the driver of the car.
They are investigating if another teenager was in the crash
According to what was reported by Carabineros captain Edgar Reyes, The possible participation of a 16-year-old boy in the incident is being investigated. The latter arrived at the Hospital del Salvador with serious injuries.
Although he is hospitalized in serious condition, he is not life-threatening.
Captain Reyes specified that the teenager remains as a witnessuntil it is established whether he was traveling in the accident car or not.
Likewise, he confirmed that The vehicle involved in the accident was charged with theftsince hours before the event the complaint was filed in the commune of La Reina.
The Traffic Accident Investigation Section (SIAT) and the Police Investigation Section (SIP) of the Carabineros were in charge of investigating the case.
