15,894 people who violated the law were arrested in Saudi

RIYADH: 15,894 people were arrested in different areas of Saudi Arabia during one week for violating residency, employment and border security regulations.

The Home Ministry said the arrests were made during a joint search conducted by various units of the security forces across the country from September 29 to October 5.

Among those arrested were 9,192 residence violators, 3,968 border security violators and 2,734 labor law violators. A total of 48,911 violators are currently being processed for violation of regulations. Out of which 45,422 are male and 3,489 are female. Of these, 38,790 violators were transferred to their diplomatic missions to obtain travel documents. 8,234 violators were deported.

The Ministry of Interior has reiterated that anyone who facilitates the entry of an intruder into the country or provides transportation, shelter or any aid or service will face up to 15 years in prison and a maximum fine of 1 million riyals.
