16 hospitals report more than 50% of Covid patients

In seven months, there were reports 375 deaths because of Covid-19 in Mexico, and in recent weeks the number of infections has increased; the above, according to data from the Health Secretary (SSa), in its report of July 10, where it detailed that 8,075 cases of the respiratory virus have been confirmed so far this year.

According to data from the IRAG Network Information Systemdirected by the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the SSa, 16 hospitals are registered with more than 50 percent occupancy of patients hospitalized for respiratory diseases such as covid and flu.

The Dr. Raymundo Abarca Alarcón General Hospital, in the state of Guerrero, registers 100% of occupation; it is followed by the ISSSTE from Morelia, Michoacán, which reports the 86%; and in third place the General of Zone 1 Tapachula, Chiapas, with the 67% of beds with inmates.

The General Hospital of Zone No. 1, in Colima, also registers an occupation of 67%; General Agustin O’Horan in Yucatan is at 58% of his capacity, and the General of Apan, in Hidalgo with 50%.

The Ministry of Health stressed that the preliminary positivity rate reached its highest point so far this year, registering 28% of positive cases among people with symptoms of COVID-19.

On the other hand, the Ministry of Health reported 646 cases of interseasonal influenza, as well as 11 deaths resulting from complications with the disease, in addition to a million 328 thousand 194 cases of infection acute respiratory, and 10,364 cases of pneumonia or bronchopneumonia.

Meanwhile, so far this year, Mexico City has been the entity most affected by the Covid-19, since it concentrates the 25.8% of infections and the 15.5% of deaths caused by this disease.

Other entities with a significant number of cases are: Querétaro, State of Mexico, Nuevo León and Puebla.
