Pathanamthitta: A 17-year-old boy’s friend is in police custody in connection with a 16-year-old girl’s pregnancy. The friend was taken into custody after the girl was found to be pregnant.
The girl, who is a Plus One student, was admitted to the hospital on Saturday due to physical ailments. After the examination, it was found that the girl was five months pregnant. After the girl was subjected to counseling, the name of the 17-year-old, a plus two student, was revealed. With this, the family filed a complaint with the Aranmula police and the police took the 17-year-old into custody.
Police said the girl and the 17-year-old were studying in the same school. Both have been friends since April 2018. The girl was first sexually assaulted during the summer of 2019. The torture took place in a deserted building near the girl’s house. Twice he came to the girl’s house and tortured him. The police also said that between the months of April and June, the girl was taken to a building near her house and continued to be tortured. The 17-year-old, who is in custody, will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and transferred to a protective facility.
