Thrissur: A complaint was lodged that a girl was sexually assaulted on a train. A 16-year-old girl traveling with her father on the Ernakulam-Guruvayur Special Express train was injured. It is alleged that a group of five persons traveling in the train tried to touch the girl’s body in a bad manner and harassed her. Thrissur Railway Police has registered a case against five persons under the Pox Act. The Railway Police said that they have not been able to nab them and the search for the culprits is on.

The girl was assaulted on a train that left Ernakulam at 7.50 last night. It is alleged that the harassment started after the train passed Ernakulam North station. As the harassment continued, the father informed the guard of the train at Edappally station. The guard replied that the incident could be reported to the police and that police action would be taken from the nearest station. But when the train reached Aluva station, the police did not come. When the train later reached Thrissur, the father and daughter lodged a complaint with the Railway Police.
