by time news

About 1600 soldiers from Britain are currently on their way to Estonia.

As part of Operation NATO, about 1600 British troops are deployed in the European country of Estonia, at a military base in Taba, 70 miles from the Russian border.

They have been deployed in response to an immediate counter-attack by Russia if it starts dropping chemical bombs on Ukraine or invading the Baltic state of Estonia.

Lt. Col. Ru Streetfield, who heads the NATO war team, said his forces would be 100 percent ready if Vladimir Putin did not order an invasion of Estonia.

About 2,300 soldiers from the British, French, Danish and Estonian teams are engaged in a large-scale exercise at the Taba Army Base, known as the Exercise Bold Dragon, using tanks including British Challenger 2 tanks, armored infantry, engineers, artillery and logistics.

Estonian officials say Vladimir Putin will one day invade their country.
