Cuenca, April 6, 2023
A total of 162 new health professionals entered the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital in Cuenca, within the framework of strengthening human talent promoted by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) to provide comprehensive care in the country’s establishments.
73 professionals in March and 89 in this month of April joined the various work areas of the hospital, including: neonatology, pediatric and adult intensive care unit, hospitalization, rehabilitation, operating room, laboratory, imaging, physiatry, hemodynamics, work social, external consultation and administrative area.
Most of the contracted personnel are nursing professionals; but also specialists in anesthesiology, intensive care, ophthalmology, urology, infectology, clinical psychology, palliative care. In addition, physical therapy and rehabilitation technologists, laboratory technologists, pharmaceutical biochemists, and administrative support personnel.
“When I found out that I was one of the selected ones, I felt very happy. One of my dreams was to work in a hospital with great experience. Thanks to the Ministry of Public Health, which is strengthening the care of all its establishments, I am working at the prestigious Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital,” said David Vélez, a nurse assigned to the operating room area.
“The recruitment was carried out in a transparent manner, through the Find Employment platform of the Ministry of Labor. Through the corresponding process, the most suitable personnel was selected, with oversight of professionals from the University of Cuenca. In this way, the human talent gap is reduced,” said María José Vázquez, hospital manager.
Improving care and guaranteeing the quality of health services is one of the priority objectives of the Ministry of Health for the benefit of the entire population of Ecuador.
