This is below the average for the past seven days (2001), but fewer and fewer tests are reported on the weekend. The seven-day incidence was 156.8 cases per 100,000 population. Six people have died with or from Corona in the past 24 hours.
As of Sunday there were 2,213 active cases in Austria, 240 fewer than on Saturday. As the interior ministry’s crisis team reported, there have been 724,035 confirmed cases in Austria since the start of the pandemic. 689,927 people have recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic, and 1,912 are considered healthy again within the past 24 hours.
56 deaths have been recorded in the past seven days. In total, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 10,895 deaths in Austria since the outbreak. 122 people per 100,000 inhabitants have died of or with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
There were 845 people in the hospital on Sunday, 15 fewer than reported yesterday. 212 people were cared for in intensive care units (plus one patient). This number has increased by 28 patients within a week.
10,550 vaccinations were carried out on Saturday. According to the data in the e-vaccination pass, a total of 5,661,406 received at least one prick – that is 63.4 percent of the population. 5,346,687 people and thus 59.9 percent of Austrians are fully immunized.
