Muscat: Police have arrested 17 Asians trying to cross into Oman illegally. They reached the North Al Batina coast in two boats. The Coast Guard arrested them and handed them over to the police. The Royal Oman Police said in a statement that legal proceedings against them were being completed.

Kuwait City: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Housing has announced that 14,653 visitors have not left the country after their visas expired. Authorities have decided to take strict action, including against their sponsors. Meanwhile, inspections aimed at nabbing illegal occupants are in progress across the country.

Brigadier General Walid Al Tarawa, Head of the Residence Affairs Sector under the Ministry of Interior, submitted the details of visitors who have not left the country after the visa expires. This was on the instructions of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Ahmed Al Nawaf. The figures are for the last three years.

As of early May 2022, 14,653 visitor visas had expired but had not left the country. Based on this, the ministry has decided to take action against those who sponsored their visas. As a punitive measure, they will not be able to sponsor any type of visa, including family visas, for the next two years.
