The magnitude of the emergency has led to the deployment of air resources and specialized personnel to support mitigation efforts, particularly in hard-to-reach areas. To date, authorities report that more than 12,500 hectares in Huila have been affected by the flames.

In Huila, where fires persist in four municipalities, authorities have stepped up their efforts, with the support of aircraft that drop water on the most affected areas. Difficult access in several rural areas has made this type of aerial intervention essential to prevent the fire from spreading further.
