Danny Avdia vs Giannis Antetokounmpo (Reuters)
After playing only seven minutes due to a stomach virus in Washington’s 116:109 loss to Toronto, tonight (between Sunday and Monday) Danny Avdia came back to himself and came off the bench to score 17 points. The forward also added six rebounds, two assists and three steals, but again the Wizards lost – this time 117:111 to Milwaukee.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded a season-high 13 assists and added 23 points and 10 rebounds en route to his fourth triple-double of the season. The Bucks (18:46), who continue to be ahead of Boston in the lead of the NBA, came back to win after their winning streak was interrupted at 16 with a loss to Philadelphia yesterday and did it with the help of 28:34 in the first quarter.
Javon Carter scored 20 points for Milwaukee, Jrue Holiday added 19, Brock Lopez 15, X Maccabi Tel Aviv, Ingles, 14 and Grayson Allen 11. All Bucks players scored 22 of 49 shots from beyond the arc, which is the most that the Washington defense has allowed this season.
The Wizards (34:30), who remain in tenth place in the East and continue to chase the play-in ticket, received 33 points from Bradley Beal (nine rebounds). Kristaps Porzingis (13 rebounds and five assists) finished with 24 points, 11 were for Corey Kispert and 10 for Delon Wright.
