17 wine cellars located in Western and Central Danubian Plainteamed up to make wine list of the region. The goal is for wine tourism lovers to have clear routes to the cellars, and also to be informed about the cultural and historical attractions in the vicinity. “Our initiative started a year ago, when we gathered 17 wineries from our region with the idea of promoting it,” Emi Marinova, coordinator of the creation of the wine list, told BTA.

The region on the map represents almost a fifth of the country’s territory, but only 4 percent of tourism and 12 percent of wine tourism is directed to it.
“We often encounter the problem that we are not known, that tourists do not know what they can visit in this region of Bulgaria,” Marinova emphasized.
At the moment, the wine list is distributed only in paper form, work is also being done on the creation of a website.
