I’m 17.567 i new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday it was +18.938, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 3.754.077 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 344 (yesterday they were +718, of which 460 in 24 hours and 258 in the past), for a total of 113,923 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 3.107.069 e 20.483 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (+26.175 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 533.085, equal to -3.276 compared to yesterday (-7.969 the day before).

The swabs and the scenario

I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 320.892, which is 42,081 less than yesterday when it was 362,973. While the rate of positivity 5,5% (the approximation of 5.47%): it means that out of 100 swabs performed, more than 5 were positive; yesterday it was 5.2%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.

Less infections in 24 hours than yesterday. The curve drops, as usual over the weekend, due to fewer analyzes. Compared to last Saturday (April 3) – the same day of the week -, when +21,261 cases were registered with a positive rate of 5.9%, there is an improvement. Two elements that bode well for this bulletin: the reduction of the current total positives (533,085), which goes on for the fifth consecutive day, and the percentage of cases on test that remains below 6%. But the descent of the curve is really very slow, to be configured as a sort of high plateau. The contagion has reached a plateau – the president of the ISS Silvio Brusaferro said yesterday -. We see a slow decrease. Some regions are in decline, others are not. It will take time to reset the daily amount of cases as vaccinations proceed.

The Lombardy remains the most affected in terms of the number of newly infected: +2,974 cases with over 53,000 swabs, which is the highest number of regional tests of the day. Above 2 thousand there is only the Campania (+2.069). They follow with a four-digit increment: Puglia (+1.804), Emilia Romagna (+1.525), Lazio (+1.463), Piedmont (+1.267), Sicily (+1.229), Tuscany (+1.177) e Veneto (+1,054). The latter returns above the threshold of one thousand, after yesterday had communicated a figure below this value.

The health system

Pressure drops on hospitals for the fourth consecutive day. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m -492 (yesterday -705), for a total of 27,654 hospitalized. I beds occupied in intensive care (ICU) I’m -15 (yesterday -60), bringing the total of more seriously ill a 3.588. The variation in the number of beds occupied, in critical and non-critical areas, indicates the balance between patients who left and those who entered in the last 24 hours. In fact, i new entrances to resuscitation I’m +186 (yesterday +192).

I vaccinate

The vaccine doses administered are over 12.6 million. Citizens who have received the second dose are more than 3.8 million. Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
