18 children have died in Uzbekistan after drinking Indian cough medicine, the country’s Ministry of Health has announced. The Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan informed that 18 children died after drinking Dok-1 Max cough medicine manufactured by an Indian company. Reports said that the tragic incident took place due to consumption of cough medicine manufactured by a company based in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Ethylene glycol, a chemical in the medicine, appears to have been responsible for the deaths of the children. It was already alleged that 66 people died after drinking cough medicine sent from India in Kandia.

In this case, the license of the pharmaceutical company Marion has been temporarily canceled due to the complaint that children died in Uzbekistan due to Indian cough medicine. The license has been revoked for failing to provide an explanation to the inquiry committee regarding the death of the children.
