Kasaragod: Manjeswaram caught the money being smuggled in the bus. 18 lakh rupees was found during the inspection of the vehicle conducted by the excise. Pipe money worth Rs 18 lakh was smuggled in Karnataka RTC bus. Nith, a 25-year-old from Maharashtra, was arrested. During the regular inspection of the vehicle by the Excise, the money was seized from the bag of the young man. It was being brought from Mangalore to Kasarakote.
The accused was arrested by a team comprising Excise Inspectors Sajith, Vijayan and Sonu Sebastian. He was handed over to the Manjeswaram police. 50 kg of prohibited tobacco products were also seized during vehicle inspection last night. The tobacco products were being transported in a Karnataka RTC bus coming from Mangalore to Kasaragod.
