Yariyev says that this accusation is also false, drugs have nothing to do with him. According to him, the real reason for his arrest is his religious views, especially theologians Taleh Bagirovu, Abgul Suleymanovis to defend him.
Yariyevi was detained by employees of the General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (popularly known as “bandotdel” – ed.). He told the court that he was subjected to unbearable torture in this department:

He emphasized his innocence in his last words before the verdict on October 4 and asked the court for acquittal.
Yariyeva was charged with Article 234.4.3 of the Criminal Code (acquiring, transporting, storing large quantities of drugs for the purpose of sale). This article stipulates imprisonment from 5 to 12 years.
The court did not acquit him, but described the charge under Article 234.1-1 of the Criminal Code (acquiring, transporting, storing large quantities of drugs without the purpose of sale). In other words, it eliminated the issue of sales. According to the verdict, although M. Yariyev had drugs on him, he did not intend to sell them.
The sanction of this article provides for imprisonment from 3 to 8 years. M. Yariyev was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
His mother Tarana Yaryyeva He says that his son is innocent and that he was arrested after being defamed. According to him, when Murad was arrested, he had just turned 18 and was preparing to go to military service.
“He took me out of the hospital that day. He left the house to buy donuts. He never came back. Where are the drugs, where is Murad?”
An appeal will be filed against the verdict on M. Yariyev.
