/ The Minister in the Israeli War Council, Benny Gantz, described on Wednesday the war with Hamas and the rest of the Palestinian factions as “complicated,” acknowledging the existence of a division among the Israelis.

The Israeli minister’s confession comes about 180 days after a large-scale war that Israel is waging with the Palestinian factions by air, land and sea, which resulted in the death and injury of thousands of Palestinians.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced today, Wednesday, that the number of victims of the Israeli bombing of Gaza, since October 7, 2023, has risen to 32,975 people.

Gantz said, “We are running a complex war and we currently have great challenges,” stressing that “no important political or military achievement can be achieved if our people suffer from division.”

Regarding his country’s inability to return the prisoners held by Hamas, Gantz said, “I am ashamed of the families of the kidnapped because we have not been able to return them yet.”

Despite the UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire, Israel continues its air and ground operations in Gaza, and is planning a ground operation in Rafah, which Washington opposes.

The Israeli minister stressed the need “not to harm strategic relations with the United States.”
