189 million euros for alternative fuels

The European Commission has announced grants worth almost 189 million euros for the installation of alternative fuels infrastructures in 26 projects in 12 EU member states: Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Spain, Countries Netherlands, Poland, Romania and Sweden.

These countries will receive support under the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Facility (AFIF), which combines grants from the Connecting Europe Facility with capital from financial institutions.

“Our investment of 189 million euros will result in the creation of some 2,000 charging points and some 63 hydrogen refueling stations. Four projects will support the electrification of ground assistance services at airports, installing vehicle charging infrastructures of service”explained Adina Vălean, Commissioner for Transport.
