18th anniversary of the INDH in Youssoufia: Inauguration in Echemaia of a Multidisciplinary Social Complex dedicated to people in precarious situations

Inaugurated in the presence of the governor of the province of Youssoufia, Mohamed Salem Essabti, local elected officials, INDH partners, representatives of civil society actors and heads of external services, this socio-educational structure aims to support the targeted categories in the areas of speech therapy, psychomotor rehabilitation, medical rehabilitation, in addition to special education for children aged between 2 and 8 years and 9 and 16 years.

The result of a partnership between the INDH and Entraide Nationale, this Social Complex is part of program 2 “Support for people in precarious situations”, of phase III of the INDH.

With a total cost of 6,780,000 DH, this Complex includes a space for the economic empowerment of people with disabilities, rooms, a space dedicated to children with disabilities, a Primary Care Room, in addition to administrative dependencies.

In a statement to M24, the continuous news television channel of MAP, the president of the Federation of Associations operating in the field of disability in Youssoufia, Salaheddine Chiahou, indicated that the number of people suffering from disabilities at the level of the Pachalik of Echemaia amounts to 166, in addition to some 400 in neighboring rural communes, noting that this Center offers to the beneficiary categories, educational services and paramedical treatments, such as speech therapy, psychomotor rehabilitation, medical rehabilitation, special education in addition to support and psychological assistance.

This complex, dedicated to the economic empowerment of people with disabilities and women in difficult situations, offers women in difficult situations workshops dedicated to cooking, sewing and embroidery, and has a listening and guidance center, he added.

In a similar statement, the head of the Social Action Division (DAS) of the province of Youssoufia, Ibrahim Iddou, stressed that the number of projects falling within the framework of the “support for people in precarious situations” program at the provincial level, amounts to 47 projects with a total cost of 17.6 MDH entirely financed by the INDH.

In this context, Mr. Iddou highlighted the results of the INDH in this province for the period 2019-2022, stating that some 442 projects were carried out, with a total cost of 126.40 MDH, to which the INDH contributed 110.50 MDH.

In the process, he highlighted the positive impact of the various projects, thanks to effective communication between the various governance bodies concerned with the proper implementation of this Royal project, in this case the Provincial Human Development Committee (CPDH).
