Aprepare for the storm. From this Saturday, August 24, storms are expected from southwest to northeast France in the afternoon and evening. Météo-France has placed 19 departments on orange alert. The first rainfall is forecast from 4 pm.

The departments affected are: Hautes-Pyrénées, Haute-Garonne, Ariège, Gers, Tarn, Tarn-et-Garonne, Aveyron, Lot, Cantal, Puy-de-Dôme, ‘Allier, Saône-et-Loire, Côte- d’Or, Haute-Saône, Haute-Marne, Vosges, Meuse, Meurthe-et-Moselle and Moselle.

Reach up to 100 km / h

According to Météo-France, the weather on Saturday will look like “strong summer conditions”. The weather agency also warned of a “high probability of strong gusts [du Massif central au Grand Est surtout] and high intensities and accumulations of precipitation [Occitanie surtout] ».

We must expect gusts “of the order of 80 to 100 km / h in the region in the parts of the former Midi-Pyrénées region” and “of the order of 90 to 110 km / h of Auvergne to Burgundy and Lorraine.”
