19 people have been or will be tried out of the 47 who were taken into police custody after violence on the sidelines of the May Day parade in Paris, franceinfo learned from the Paris prosecutor’s office on Wednesday May 4.

Two are to be tried in immediate appearance on Wednesday. Among them is the woman suspected of having assaulted a firefighter to prevent him from extinguishing a pallet fire. Seven others were to be tried in immediate appearance on Tuesday for acts of contempt, rebellion or violence against persons holding public authority, but four have asked for their trial to be postponed to later dates. The other three were released.

Ten other suspects, prosecuted for concealment of theft, contempt or violence against the police, will be summoned later to justice and are placed under judicial supervision in the meantime.

Two people have admitted their participation in a group with a view to committing violence or degradation and/or violence against the police will benefit from a summons on prior recognition of guilt.

14 others in custody received a simple reminder of the law. A minor will be presented to a juvenile judge. And 11 lawsuits were dismissed.
