More than 100 people from Mochka area of Rahim Yar Khan district of Punjab province of Pakistan were returning home by boat after participating in a wedding ceremony in Rajanpur area.
The boat, carrying more than 100 people, was traveling on the Indus River bordering Punjab and Sindh provinces. Then, the boat unexpectedly capsized in the river and had an accident.
All 100 people traveling in the boat were washed away in the river due to this accident. The police rushed to the spot after receiving the information and the rescue team engaged in the rescue of the people swept away in the river.
In this case, 19 women died in this boat accident. Their bodies have been recovered from the river. Also, many people have been washed away in the river. The search for them is going on intensively. Due to this, the death toll is feared to rise.
Preliminary information has been released that the accident may have occurred due to the increase in the flow of water and the loading of a large number of people on the boat.
