19-year-old turned out to be the uncanny Simbu

by time news

Director Gautham Menon had originally chosen the title ‘Sun in Rivers’ for his film with Simbu. But later it was changed to ‘Vendu Tanninu Kadu’.

This film is made up of Mumbai, shadow world, gangsters and other things.

Writer Jayamohan has written the screenplay of about hundred pages in three days. After reading it, Simbu and producer Isari Ganesh happily agreed, the film work started last year and now ‘Vendhu Thanithanu Kadu’ is on the screens.

“The thing about Simbu is that he is flexible to anything. A creator can do anything with him. With Simbu in a film, we can say for sure that anything is possible.

“Hindi actor Aamir Khan suddenly appeared on screen as a 19-year-old in a film. Simbu has done the same. He is still young.

“When the 19-year-old Muthuveeran described the character to him, he immediately left for Kerala. When he came back from there, he had changed. Instead of Simbu, my eyes saw Muthuveeran.

“Everyone on the set really enjoyed her youthful look and performance. Gautham Menon praises the film’s protagonist, his skill is to absorb any scene and finish it in one breath.

There is no place for love in the screenplay written by Jayamohan. So Gautham Menon assures that he has included the love section and that you will see a love that has never been seen in his films.

Simbu is paired opposite Siddhi Itnani in this film. The film crew appreciates that he has played the role of Bhavai very naturally.

“We considered a few other actresses before meeting Siddhi Itnani. No one fits. So we had to sign a heroine and even shoot for it.

“In this situation he came and met in person. It was 11 in the morning. Siddhi was on the set within the next two hours.

“Although he is from Mumbai, he speaks Tamil very well. You have to understand the importance of the dialogues and appreciate the acting,” says Gautham Menon.

What kind of story is this?

“It is the story of a young man who belongs to a gang. Why he joins the group, what’s behind it, where and how his life started is vividly depicted.

“We all live the lives we’ve got. It must be known that there is such a life in it. Although there is a lot of footfall, we have shot the scenes without exaggerating the violence.

“We have instilled in the fans that one hero can beat ten people and he can do anything. People come to see the film with that in mind. They believe that a Kamal film means anything can happen on screen.

“In one particular scene, ‘We don’t know if we’ll be alive tomorrow, can we get out of this?’ one would ask. Another said, ‘You can go if you don’t do anything big. Perhaps if something great is achieved, what is here is ‘security’. This is the plot of this film,” says Gautham Menon.
