Kabul:

It has been a year since the Taliban came to power in Afghanistan. Since they came to power, Afghan people have been deprived of various basic rights. In particular, women are restricted from studying, working, and men from going out without a partner. Similarly there are strict restrictions on the media.

Najibullah Haqqani, the Minister of Communications of the Taliban government, has said that 2¼ crore websites displaying immoral content have been blocked.

“We have blocked 2 crore 34 lakh websites so far. When we block one, they start a website with a different name. But websites displaying immoral content will never be allowed to function,” he said.

He also accused Facebook of being reluctant to cooperate with the Taliban government to suppress such websites.
