jpnn.com – TANJUNGPINANG – Two members of the Riau Islands DPRD elected in the 2024 Election have chosen to resign.

According to the Chairman of the Kepri KPU, Indrawan Susilo Prabowoadi, both of them withdrew on the grounds that they would be competing in the 2024 Pilkada.

With this decision, the two of them will not be inaugurated on Monday (9/9). The two are Nyanyang Haris Pratamura from the Gerindra Party and Ery Suandi from the PDI Perjuangan.

“Both of them have officially resigned and submitted their resignation letters to the KPU,” said Indrawan after attending the plenary meeting for the inauguration of DPRD members for the 2024-2029 period at the DPRD Office, Dompak Island, Tanjungpinang City.

Indrawan said that the elected DPRD member Nyanyang Haris Pratamura resigned after confirming his registration for the 2024 Pilkada at the KPU Kepri as a prospective candidate for deputy governor accompanying prospective candidate for Governor of Kepri Ansar Ahmad.

Meanwhile, Ery Suandi registered for the 2024 Pilkada at the Karimun Regency KPU as a prospective deputy regent candidate accompanying the prospective Karimun Regent candidate Muhammad Firmansyah.

“According to the provisions, the resignation letters that both of them submitted to the KPU during the regional election registration cannot be withdrawn,” he said.

Next, the KPU will wait for a letter from the Secretary of the Riau Islands DPRD regarding the application for an interim replacement (PAW) for the two legislative members.

As many as two elected members of the Riau Islands DPRD have chosen to step down in order to advance in the 2024 Regional Head Elections (Pilkada).
