Two were killed and at least eight were injured in what became known as Thursday night’s shooting in the Israeli city of Tel Aviv.

More than 10 people were injured in a series of shootings Thursday night in various parts of the Israeli city of Tel Aviv. They were all taken to a nearby Ichilov hospital, where two of them were pronounced dead, The Times of Israel reported.

Police spokesman Eli Levy called the shooting a “terrorist attack” and said it took place in “several places” on Tel Aviv’s busiest streets.

In a statement, Prime Minister Naphtali Bennett said: “This is a very difficult night.

He added, “Security forces are constantly on the lookout for terrorists who carried out the homicide attack. Those who aided or abetted the terrorists will be properly punished.”

Hundreds of police, including border police, are on a search operation across the city in search of terrorists.

A Tel Aviv resident has been asked by a police spokesman to “stay home, lock the door and avoid standing on the porch.”
