For many years, a heating method different from traditional radiators has become widespread in homes: the pellet stove. A market in full expansion since professionals in the sector have recorded around 180-200,000 new installations, each year, from 2021. Rewarded for the savings they make, the different physical models are according to needs, depending on the surface area we want to heat. as well as the level of insulation of the house.
To cook them, wood stove owners use pellets (or pellets, according to the local name). Raw material that you can buy in bulk, in bags. On average, you need to use around two tons of pellets to heat your house in winter. Which has a price, undoubtedly. But it will go down this year. To do this, you should not delay in saving for the next winter because the prices are (almost) the lowest of them.
After a peak at 550 euros per tonne of bag pellets at the beginning of September 2023, this has now fallen to 380 euros. Average prices, across all of France, which make saving the 340 euros compared to last year, for a house that needs two tons of pellets. The tonne of bulk pellets has also varied down: 500 euros per tonne a year ago, €330 today. These prices vary depending on the region.
