jpnn.com – PADANG – Two police officers, NPP (29) with the rank of Briptu and MSAD (21) with the rank of Bripda, who are personnel in the Sabhara Directorate of the West Sumatra Regional Police, have become defendants.

Briptu NPP and Bripda MSAD, together with HS (38), a civilian, were the perpetrators of the theft in a money transport vehicle belonging to a bank, stealing around Rp. 2.6 billion.

West Sumatra Regional Police Chief Inspector General Suharyono promised to take firm action against his two members.

“The National Police are conducting an internal clean-up and will not hesitate to take action against members who violate laws and regulations,” he said in Padang, Wednesday (28/8).

He said the two police officers were undergoing criminal proceedings, as well as being questioned by the Propam Division of the West Sumatra Regional Police.

“The examination process by Propam Polda Sumbar against the perpetrators is carried out in line with the criminal process, severe sanctions will be imposed later according to the regulations,” said Inspector General Suharyono.

He also apologized to the public for the actions of his two members.

“We are concerned and regret the involvement of Polri members in this case,” he said.
