It has been reported that 20 tons of gold jewelery was sold all over Tamil Nadu on the day of Atchayathiruthi.
There is a belief among the public that buying gold on the day of Atsya Tritiya will increase wealth. Due to this, the day before yesterday, the Atsya Tritiya started selling hot in the jewelery shops from early morning.
Discounts ranging from Rs. 60 to Rs. Also, gold traded lower at Rs 38,528 a pound and Rs 4,816 a gram in the morning and 38,368 a pound and Rs 4,796 a gram, respectively. Thus, the public flocked to buy jewelry. The sale lasted until midnight in jewelry stores that day.
In this regard, the owners of the jewelry store said:
There are 35,000 jewelery shops across Tamil Nadu. Of these, an average of 10 tonnes of gold is sold daily. Due to the corona infection there has been no direct sale in stores on Atsya Tritiya Day for the last 2 years. Only a small amount of jewelry was sold online.
Due to the absence of corona infection this year the general public came to the shops in large numbers to buy jewelery. We expect 16 to 18 tonnes of gold jewelery to be sold across Tamil Nadu on Atsya Tritiya Day. However, 20 tons of jewelry have been sold.

Gold rises by Rs 96 per pound
Meanwhile, gold prices rose yesterday. In Chennai, gold rose by Rs 12 to Rs 4,808 per gram and Rs 96 to Rs 38,464 per pound. Similarly, 24 carat pure gold traded at Rs 41,656 a pound. A gram of silver sold for Rs.
