20-year-old Anju Sriparvathy hails from Perambala, a village near Kasargod, Kerala. On the 31st, he had ordered and eaten kulitmanthi biryani online from a nearby restaurant called Romania. He suffered from a health problem shortly after eating and was admitted to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
However, Anju Sriparvathy’s condition worsened and after that she was taken to a hospital in Mangalore, Karnataka, where she has been undergoing treatment. With two young women dead in a week and more than 20 people being treated for ‘food poisoning’, food officials are testing the food there. Also, state health minister Veena George, who met reporters in Pathanamthitta regarding the death of Anju Sriparvathy, said, “A case has been registered on the complaint of the parents. Anju Sriparvati passed away early today.
The Commissioner of Food Safety has been directed to investigate the incident and submit a report. “The TMO is investigating the treatment given to the young woman,” he said. The body of the deceased Anju Sriparvati has been sent for post-mortem and the next step will be taken after the report is received, police said.
Also, the license of the restaurant where the young lady bought and ate has been canceled and sealed. In connection with this incident, 3 people including the owner of the restaurant have been arrested and the police are investigating them.
