It has been reported that Air India is planning to buy 200 new aircraft. Tata Motors, which acquired the state-owned Air India, has been operating since January. In this situation it is planning to buy new aircraft to streamline the airline service. Negotiations are underway with Boeing Airbus for this. No new aircraft have been purchased in India for the last 16 years. According to aviation sources, Air India, which owns the Tata Group, is considering buying more than 200 new aircraft, 70 per cent of which are small aircraft. Air India has not yet decided whether to buy the Airbus A380.

However, they said they were still in talks with Airbus and Boeing to buy smaller aircraft. Wide aircraft such as the Airbus a350 have a large fuel tank that allows them to travel long distances on Indo-US routes. Air India has not placed orders for 111 aircraft since 2006, including 68 aircraft from US-based Boeing and 43 aircraft from European aircraft manufacturer Airbus. In this case, the Tata group acquired Air India on January 27 after winning the Air India auction on October 8 last year.
