One-time financial assistance was given to those who participated in the Second World War.
It was reported that as a result of President Ilham Aliyev’s special attention and concern for the participants of the Second World War, measures in the field of social protection of citizens belonging to that category have been strengthened year by year. In the past, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population provided housing and cars to persons with disabilities related to the Second World War. Also, participants of the Second World War are provided with monthly stipends and monthly pensions of the President, and these payments have been regularly increased in the past period.
Especially in the last five years, with successive social reforms, benefits and pension payments have increased by 5 times, and the average monthly pension has increased by 2.4 times. The participants of the Second World War were also paid supplements to their pensions in accordance with the legislation.
On the eve of the Victory over Fascism Day on May 9, the head of the state gives a one-time monetary award to those who took part in the Second World War in 1941-1945, to the widows of the soldiers who died or later died, and to those who were awarded orders and medals for selfless work on the rear front. Orders on providing assistance are signed.
This year, with the Order dated May 2, 2024, in connection with the 79th anniversary of the Victory in the Second World War, one-time financial aid in the amount of 2,000 manats was paid to the participants of that war, and 1,000 manats to other persons specified in the Order. The Order covered a total of 2,946 persons, 29 of whom were participants in the Second World War, and the rest were persons belonging to other categories mentioned in the Order. The amount of that one-time financial aid has been increased many times in the past period.
