There was funding for a new playground in Lauchhammer-Ost last week. Mayor Mirko Buhr was able to announce at the traditional Children’s Day festival that 20,000 euros are now available for the project. The sum came from the company enercity Erneuerbare GmbH from Berlin, according to the city of Lauchhammer.

At the opening of the traditional children’s festival in the city of Lauchhammer on Children’s Day on June 1, 2023 in the castle park, Mayor Mirko Buhr was able to announce an unusual donation. Fabian Stefan, project developer at enercity Erneuerbare GmbH from Berlin, handed over a check for 20,000 euros to Laura Paulick and Erik Sobiella from the citizens’ initiative “Skaterplatz Lauchhammer”. The citizens’ initiative wants to build a playground there. The play and swing combination is to be financed by donations. A total of around 60,000 euros is needed.
Thanks to the generous donation from enercity, donations have risen to 33,495 euros. enercity Erneuerbare GmbH is also active in Lauchhammer in the field of wind energy and photovoltaics. With this social commitment, the company wants to promote and strengthen public acceptance of renewable energies for climate protection. The idea of founding the “Skaterplatz Lauchhammer” citizens’ initiative came about as part of the district walks with the mayor organized for the first time by the PRO Lauchhammer association in 2022.
