The mega auction of IPL players for 2022 started yesterday in Bangalore. Ishant Kishan, the Indian batsman, was auctioned by the Indians for Rs 15.25 crore, Deepak Shakir by the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore and Shreyas Iyer by the Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs 12.25 crore.

Bangalore Royal Challengers have acquired Sri Lanka’s all-rounder Vanidu Hasaranga for Rs 10.75 crore.

The Bangalore team also bid for Indian fast bowler Harshal Patel for the same amount. Punjab have acquired South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada for Rs 9.25 crore. Lucknow bid Rs 8.75 crore for West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder and Sunrisers Hyderabad bid for Indian all-rounder Washington Sundar for Rs 8.75 crore.

West Indies action-packed batsman Shimran Hedmeyer was auctioned by Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8.50 crore, Kirunal Pandya by Lucknow for Rs 8.25 crore and Shikhar by Punjab for Rs 8.25 crore in installments. Chennai Super Kings bid for Indian fast bowler Deepak Shakir for Rs 14 crore, Ambati Rayudu for Rs 6.75 crore, Dwayne Bravo for Rs 4.40 crore and Robin Uthappa for Rs 2.50 crore. Warner was bought for Rs 6.25 crore.

The Gujarat Titans bought England’s Jason Roy for Rs 2 crore and Mohammad Shami for Rs 6.25 crore. Kolkata picked Nitish Rana for Rs 8 crore and Australia’s Pat Cummins for Rs 7.25 crore. Lucknow bid for South Africa’s Quinton de Kok for Rs 6.75 crore, Indian Manish Pandey for Rs 4.60 crore and Deepak Hooda for Rs 5.75 crore.

The Punjab team bought England’s Johnny Barstow for Rs 6.75 crore. Rajasthan Royals have bid for New Zealand’s fast bowler Trent Bolt for Rs 8 crore, Indian youngster Devdat Padikala for Rs 7.75 crore and Ravichandran Aswin for Rs 5 crore. Royal Challengers Bangalore bought Dinesh Karthik for Rs 5.50 crore and South Africa’s Du Plessis for Rs 7 crore. Delhi bought Mustafizur Rahman and Kuldeep Yadav for Rs 2 crore each.

Hyderabad bid Rs 10.75 crore for West Indies’ Nicholas Purana. New Zealand’s Luke Ferguson bought by Gujarat team for Rs 10 crore. Rajasthan team bids Rs 10 crore for young Indian fast bowler Prashit Krishna Natarajan, a left-arm fast bowler, was bought by Hyderabad for Rs 4 crore.

England’s Mark Woody was auctioned by Lucknow for Rs 7.5 crore, Bhuvneshwar Kumar by Hyderabad for Rs 4.20 crore, Jose Hazelwood by Bangalore by Rs 7.75 crore and Shardul Thakur by Delhi by Rs 10.75 crore.

Gujarat will field Rahul Diwatia for Rs 9 crore and Shivam Mavi for Rs 7.25 crore while Kolkata’s Kamlesh Nagercoil for Rs 1.10 crore. Delhi’s Shabash Ahmed for Rs 2.4 crore, Bangalore’s Harpreet Prabha for Rs 3.80 crore, Abhishek Sharma for Rs 6.50 crore, Hyderabad’s Ryan Barra for Rs 3.80 crore and Rahul Tripathi for Rs 8.50 crore. Yuvendra Sahal was auctioned by Rajasthan for Rs 6.50 crore and Rahul Sahar by Punjab for Rs 5.25 crore.

Punjab team bids Rs 9 crore for Tamil Nadu player Shah Rukh Khan. He thus earned the distinction of being the highest bidder among the players who did not play for the Indian team.

Suresh Raina, Steve Smith, Shakib Al Hasan, David Miller, Riddhiman Saha, Mohammad Nabi, Matthew Wade, Sam Billings, Imran Thakir and Umesh Yadav were among those who did not bid on the first day.

Fainted auctioneer

Edmits from England is the player auctioneer for the IPL cricket series. Edmiats suddenly fainted when the auction took place at 2pm yesterday.

When the teams were busy selecting Sri Lankan player Hasaranga, there was a commotion as Edmiats suddenly fainted from the stage.

Subsequently IPL Auction Adjourned for a while and meal break announced. A medical examination revealed that Edmiats had fainted due to low blood pressure.

Commenting on Edmiats’ health, the BCCI said, “The auctioneer’s condition is stable. The doctors are taking care of him. He will return for the next bid. ”

After the lunch break, TV colorist Charu Sharma continued the IPL auction.
