Stockholm: Alain Aspect from France, John F. Glaser from America and Anton Seilinger from Austria have been selected for the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics.

The Nobel Prize is awarded annually to those who have made significant contributions in the fields of physics, chemistry, medicine, literature, and economics and who have worked for peace. Norway awards the Nobel Peace Prize. Other prizes are offered by Sweden. The Nobel Prize consists of a gold medal, certificate and cash of Rs 7.33 crore in Indian denomination.

The announcement of the Nobel Prize for the year 2022 started yesterday. Accordingly, as the first prize, the Nobel Prize for Medicine was announced to Svante Pabo, a scientist from Sweden. Next, the Nobel Prize for Physics has been announced. The 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics will be awarded to Alain Aspect of France, John F. Glaser of the United States and Anton Seilinger of Austria.

The award goes to the trio for discovering a way that invisible particles called photons, separated by great distances, can be connected to each other.
