Shillong: 2022 North-East Olympic Games in Meghalaya. The Games will be held in Shillong from October 30 to November 6. The North-East Olympic Games were held for the first time in Manipur. The second part, which was planned to be held in Arunachal Pradesh, was postponed due to the spread of Covid. It was then decided to hold it in Manipur in 2022.

4,000 athletes from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura will participate in the Games. 2000 athletes participated in the Games held in Manipur. The competition will be held in 18 sports including Archery, Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Boxing, Football, Judo, Karate, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Tennis, Wushu, Cycling (Mountain Bike), Golf, Weightlifting and Wrestling.

After a high-level meeting chaired by the North East Organizing Committee, Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs and North East Olympic Association, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Bantidor Lyngdoh said that the sports events have been selected on the advice of the Meghalaya State Olympic Association. The Games are held on the occasion of 50 years since Meghalaya got statehood.
