Mr. Miraoui specified, in a response read on his behalf during the weekly oral questions session in the House of Advisors by the Minister Delegate for Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, that the reception capacity will reach 1,300 beds in Taza, 1,800 in Kenitra, 1,600 in Agadir.

The extension of the university city of Nador will bring the number of beds to 820 and that of Souissi 1 to 1,200, he added.

Furthermore, the minister announced that new university residences with a capacity of 574 beds will be launched in Agadir in partnership with the private sector.

He also announced that the ministry is working closely with the National Office of University, Social and Cultural Works (ONOUSC), to accelerate the completion of the ongoing city projects in Fez (1,600 beds), Mohammedia (1,400 beds) and Al Hoceima (1,400 beds) and 11 university residences in partnership with the private sector with a capacity of 6,523 beds.

In addition, Mr. Miraoui said that the capacity of higher education institutions will be increased to 18,600 additional seats, following the expansion projects carried out at the level of Moroccan universities, notably Ibn Zohr (6,402 additional seats), Sultan Moulay Slimane (2,460 additional seats), Abdel Malek Saadi (1,876 additional seats), Ibn Tofail (1,112 additional teaching seats), in addition to the increase in the number of seats in establishments with limited access thanks to the opening of three faculties of medicine and pharmacy in Errachidia, Béni Mellal and Guelmim.
