The 2023 NCAA DII Men’s Soccer Championship Selections Announced
The NCAA Selection Committee has announced the full 40-team field for the 2023 DII men’s soccer championship. The selection show aired on Monday, November 13, and now the teams are set to compete in a thrilling tournament that will culminate in the national championship game on Saturday, December 9 at the Matthews Sportsplex in Matthews, N.C.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
– The first-round games will take place on either Thursday, November 16, or Friday, November 17.
– Second-round games are scheduled for either Saturday, November 18, or Sunday, November 19.
– Third-round games will follow on Thursday, November 30, or Friday, December 1.
– Quarterfinal games will take place on Saturday, December 2, or Sunday, December 3.
– The semifinal games are set for Thursday, December 7.
– The championship final will take place on Saturday, December 9.
In last year’s tournament, Franklin Pierce emerged as the champion, defeating CSU Pueblo with a score of 2-0. This year’s tournament promises to be just as exciting, as teams from across the country compete for the ultimate prize.
The field is made up of 40 teams, with 10 teams selected from each of the four super-regions. The champions of 19 conferences have been granted Automatic Qualification, while the remaining teams have been selected at-large by the Men’s Soccer Committee.
