2023 Fast Food Chains Open on Christmas—Starbucks, McDonald’s & More

by time news

Many people across the country will be eagerly tucking into their turkey and pigs in blankets on Christmas Day, hoping to take a well-earned break from cooking for their families.

However, those who have a hankering for a different type of festive feast may have to wait until Boxing Day, as many restaurants, fast food chains, and coffee shops are not operating on December 25.

For instance, popular chicken chain Chick-fil-A will be closed on Christmas Day, officially listed as a day off for all of its locations across the US.

McDonald’s will have varied opening times, so customers will need to check local restaurant hours to see if the golden arches are open.

Coffee lovers will also need to take note, as Starbucks branches countrywide will — similarly to its fast-food counterpart — be observing different opening times. The classic coffee chain advises patrons to use their app or site to check their local branch’s opening hours.

Other fast food outlets, such as Dunkin’ and Taco Bell, also advise checking local opening times due to variable hours nationwide.

Southern-style food chain Cracker Barrel, known for its rustic ambience and home-cooked comfort food, will also be closing its doors to customers on Christmas Day.

However, breakfast lovers will be pleased to know that Waffle House, famous for its all-day breakfast options and 24-hour service, will be open for business as usual.

Buoyant bar and restaurant chain Hooters will only be opening from 4 p.m. until its regular closing time on December 25, providing an option for those seeking a festive dinner out.

Brazilian steakhouse Fogo de Chão will be open from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. for those wanting to indulge in a different style of Christmas dinner, while Krispy Kreme stores will remain closed for the holiday.

Importantly, most of the featured chains strongly advise customers to check local hours, as company holiday hours can vary by location.

If you are a fan of Texas Roadhouse, KFC, Outback Steakhouse, Zaxby’s, Whataburger, or P.F. Chang’s, castle street premises will be closed on Christmas Day.

So, it appears that happy holiday tums and a bedraggled Christmas chef may be unavoidable for some this holiday season.
