According to a press release from the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sport Shooting (FRMTS), Moroccan athletes are continuing their preparations under the supervision of Italian coach, Luca Marini, to compete in the Olympic shooting disciplines of Trap and Skeet.

The athletes who will defend the national colours during this World Cup have been selected taking into account their results and scores and their current state of preparation, in order to measure themselves against the world elite of sport shooting, the press release states.

The competition will be extremely tough against the Tokyo 2020 Olympic medallists, World Cup medal holders and international and continental champions, adds the same source.

In the women’s Trap discipline, in addition to Marirhi Yasmina, bronze medalist at the Konya 2022 Islamic Games and the Kuwait Emir Grand Prix, two young athletes will make their first entry into international competitions during this World Cup. They are Fatim Zahra Fadil and Samya Haouzane.

Regarding the men’s Trap discipline, hopes will be placed on Haffari Driss, who caused a sensation at the Osijek 2022 World Championship, where he ranked 10th in the world, with a score of 120/125. In continuous preparation, he can confirm his performance during this competition, in the company of 4 promising young shooters, Alhrras Zouhair, Kaoukabi Jalal, Mesfioui Yahya and Moqtadir Redouane.

In the women’s Skeet discipline, Marirhi Ibtissam, African champion and first national shooting athlete to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, is an athlete who is progressing, consistent in her performances and with solid international experience. This World Cup will be an opportunity to confirm the hopes placed in her.

For his part, Nebaloui Mustafa, in Men’s Skeet, will be lined up against the favorites of the discipline.
