By David Adler and Thomas Harrigan | 5 minutes ago

The 2023 Rawlings Gold Glove Award finalists have been announced by Rawlings, with winners to be revealed on ESPN’s “Baseball Tonight” on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The finalists were unveiled on Wednesday afternoon.

This year, there are three finalists per league at each position, including the utility spot, which was introduced in 2022. The winners for the nine standard positions will be determined through a voting process by the 30 MLB managers and up to six coaches from each team. They will vote from a pool of players in their league, excluding players from their own team. The managers and coaches’ votes will account for 75% of the selection total, while the remaining 25% will come from the SABR Defensive Index.

However, for the utility position, Rawlings collaborated with the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) to create a specialized defensive formula separate from the traditional voting process.
