Both teetering on the edge of glory and elimination, the New York Liberty and the Las Vegas Aces are set to clash in Game 4 of the 2023 WNBA Finals. After an impressive Game 3 victory, the Liberty have seized the momentum as they aim to force a decisive Game 5. Tonight’s game will once again take place at the electric atmosphere of Barclays Center, a venue where the Aces have yet to secure a win this season.
In Game 3, Jonquel Jones demonstrated her invaluable contribution to the Liberty, leading her team with an impressive 27-point performance. Throughout the series, Jones has proven to be a consistent force, registering 16 points and 10 rebounds in Game 1, followed by a commendable 22-point showing in Game 2. The Liberty will heavily rely on Jones to once again bring her A-game, as they attempt to level the series against the favored Aces.
However, the Aces will face some significant challenges in Game 4. The absence of two starters, point guard Chelsea Gray and center Kiah Stokes, will put the team at a disadvantage. Coach Becky Hammon confirmed that Gray sustained a foot injury during the closing minutes of Game 3, while Stokes’ injury remains shrouded in uncertainty. The Aces will need other key players to step up and fill the void left by their injured teammates.
Game 4 is scheduled to tip off at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN as these fierce rivals battle on the court once again. If the Liberty manage to emerge victorious, Game 5 will be held in Las Vegas on Friday.
