US Secretary of State Antony Blinken Comments on Hamas Leadership Appointment
US Secretary of State Antony Blinken recently commented on the appointment of Yahya Sinwar as the interim head of the political bureau of the terrorist organization Hamas. He expressed his belief that Sinwar is capable of making a deal with Israel and emphasized his key role in facilitating a ceasefire agreement that would benefit Palestinian Arabs.
Despite the killing of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran, negotiations between Israel and Hamas continue, according to Blinken. He expressed hope that an agreement can be reached if escalation by Iran does not interfere with the process.
